Styling your session should be fun. It simply means that you are adding in a few props that have meaning to you, or accessories you would really have in that environment. Having things to do will help with posing, represent who you are, and bring your story to life. Here’s what I mean... Say we’ve decided to shoot at your home. We can include your pet, cooking, your garden, rooftop terrace, bicycles, motorcycles, you name it and we can make it work. Look at the light in your home and determine the time that the light is best and communicate that to your photographer.
Maybe you’ve chosen an urban setting for your session - your favorite coffee, breakfast hangout, local record store or ice-cream shop. Bring along your backpack, favorite shopping bag or your super cool shades, handbags, hat or whatever you would normally have to ensure we are being authentic to your story. Whatever your story is, it is perfect and beautiful. Your favorite place to go is a secluded river in the country side. A picnic would be great to style with a blanket, picnic basket, flowers and your favorite sun- Hat. Some locations will need prior shooting permission, charge a fee or only allow photography at certain times, so let’s make sure we have that covered if it is somewhere your photographer has never been. The local places in town your photographer will know the rules, times and fees are and will communicate that to you both during the planning phase.
