Meredith has been a friend literally sent from the heavens (we met in small group but i don't go to church). When I believed the floor was falling out from me, there she was. She listened, laughed, and pushed me out of my comfort zone. She created a volleyball team that has since become my closest friends. She is someone that I know I can rely on.Loyalty, has always been huge for me and she is that to her core. She is an extrovert, she is strong, she is sincere and she is smart as a whip. I am blesses that she came into my life, she has changed it in more ways that she even knows for the better. I am a better person because of her.
More importantly is how she sees herself. She is the very inspiration that led me to take what I am doing for teens and expand that for adults. I think many of us women who are not married, did not have kids, divorced, done with chemo, dating, or just finding themselves wish there was an occasion to snap where you are now. We wish that our life was celebrated as much as those who have a person, kid, family etc.... Why are we not photographed at our milestones? Why does loving ourselves and our bodies end when we are seniors? We all have a story, and this page isn't all there is in your book, but it is your chapter. Illustrate this chapter with images that are profoud. Celebrate the successes and even losses. Not every portrait needs to be some embodiment of perfection. We are not perfect as humans and in that imperfection is our perfection.
So, to the person who lit a fire in me. This post is for you. I am grateful, i love you and I hope you see yourself and your story through these as I see it in you.
